A Mother of a Twist

So lately I have been rewatching How I Met Your Mother, it all started when I took a quiz on how well you know the first season and I kinda sucked at it. I realized it’s been ages since I watched the first season, I usually rewatch the 2nd-4th season because they tend to be my favorite, and so began my series rewatch.



As I was watching through Season 2 I realized that I kinda liked the Ted/Robin relationship and how it seemed that the relationship felt as the grossly say in TV ‘End Game’, but remembered that no matter who Ted has a relationship with you shouldn’t get attached because he won’t last with them because he ends up with the Mother. Then I kinda thought about you know, real life and it occurred to me, how often do marriages end in divorce? It’s like 50% right?

If memory serves, we were never really told that Ted is with the Mother right now, just that they are the Mother of his kids. I mean he could have loved her at one point and then something could have happened and they aren’t together which could result in him being with someone else, like say Robin. Ted could fall in love with the mother, marry her, have two kids, but then things could go wrong with the mother and they could end up splitting, I mean we still have our core married couple Marshall and Lilly right?

I’m pretty sure that Ted will end up with the mother and live happily ever after, this is just some food for thought. At the very least it opens up lots of room for fanfic writers I guess…

And just to get it out there, I am a diehard Robin/Barney fan and really don’t want Ted and Robin together.
